Full Throttle Defense @Darien Ice House

Schedule: 

• 8:30 am – Drop Off
• 9 am to 10:10 am – Off Ice (game analysis, KNPS dryland, including slide board training)
• 10:30 am to 12  pm – On Ice
• 12:15 pm – Pick Up

Open to:  

• Travel players only
• Players will be divided into small groups by skill/age

Skills Taught - Major Focus:

• Gap control - ** major focus
• Backward skating/transitional skating with puck
• Opening up passing lanes with lateral movement
• Steering opponents 
• Shot angling

Other Skills Taught:

• Initiating breakouts
• Winning battles along the boards
• Protecting the net
• Overall quick decision making and situational control

Details:

• Limited to 24 players
• 6 to 1 ratio – small group training
• 2011 and older will have access to mobility screening with NY Rangers PT Kevin Cota (via Performance Optimal Health).  Athletes will be provided feedback on performance and an initial exercise.
